Here are some pictures of how we used it throughout the year!
We used some of the activities from my "phonics packs" to put into our phonics notebook throughout the year. The students loved doing the spelling section of the books, because they could always say "Hey! It has "this" sound and we've done that before...let me go check that section." It made my heart happy to see them using this as such a resource ALL the time!

This looks great!
One of my favorite phonics activities has to be sorts - especially with words that have very similar patterns/letters. It helps the students to focus on the correct letter order and if there is repetition, even better.
With phonics I love to do sorts and to give them different tools to build the words that we are working on. I also love to have them start to really look for the words with our word pattern while they are reading their books so that they can see them used in context and not just as a list.
One of my favourite components of phonics/spelling instruction is teaching through word families! I use a variety of activities to do this, but I can always use more!! Thank you for considering me =). leafsgirl@rogers.com.
I love doing "rhyme time" using word families (rimes). The class generates a list of real and nonsense words, changing the onset. Then they make a sentence using as many of the real words as they can. Lastly, they illustrate the sentence. A really fun activity!
I like to play games, like Connect 4 or BINGO, to solidify different phonics patterns.
I like to use letters and have the kids manipulate and spell words. This interactive notebook looks great!
I LOVE! Can I say it again? I LOVE INB! I got hooked on them through Math and Science and now this year I am going to dive in head first with Language Arts - specially word work and Readers Response. Thank you for telling me about yours!

I love interactive notebooks and my kids are loving them too!We also love games that I create on the SmartBoard like word sorts and guess the words. Anything interactive is definitely a favorite.

I don't have a favorite. I do a required phonics lesson on the Promethean board, word sorts, and "rotten apple" games.
I love doing making words activities, and later I'll put them in a review station with different onsets and different rimes that have the previous week patterns. We also do lots of word hunts in their IR books or decodables for my Low friends.
Interactive notebooks are so much fun because the kids love them. We love to play phonics games on the Smart board or play word work games with partners.

My favorite phonics activity is Secret Stories. They love figuring out the "secret story"and it helps them to remember the skill.
My students love to use the white boards shaped like paddles to write words/sounds that we are working on.
I have my kids work through sorting and making words. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

I like to use Making Words. Having the kids move letters and chunks around really helps them practice the sounds, but I also like to throw in synonyms, antonyms and analogy vocabulary as we create new words.
This is only my second year teaching, so I am constantly looking for better ideas. We use Saxon Phonics, and from what I see, this would be an awesome supplement to that program...Plus, I LOVE interactive notebooks. :)
We "write" the vowel in the air, say the vowel, and say the word.
Dry Erase Boards!! Whole group~ have students write the sounds of the word you are saying. Change the ___ to ____ now what do you have? Keep working on word families and you can correct letter formation as it happens since you can see all of it! Kids are engaged and you can differentiate easily! My kids love getting to find phonics patterns and highlight them. For some reason they adore that.

I like to do sorts and different word building games.
I love this so much! We started using interactive notebooks in math last year, so I'd love to start using a phonics one next year. I think my kids' favorite phonics activity was any time they could use a bingo blotter! There was always a "YAY" when I showed them the blotters! Thank you! I hope I win!
