Everyone, STEP BACK!
DANGER ZONE!!
JEN IS AT THE SAW!!
haha!!
Yeppers...that's me at the saw.
I'm making my math journals...
but because the kids take an ENTIRE page for one math problem....
such a waste.
Soooo....
a few years ago, my friend showed me her trick....and ever since then, I've been cutting spirals,
or rather,
my husband has.
But this year, he told me to do it myself....
hahaha! me??
the girl nicknamed Grace...because I have none??
Well, after getting my instructions, I tried it.
And THIS is what happened...lol
I was so scared of the blade, I just slammed the saw down...
so I tried it again....
and this time, going much slower, I achieved perfection!
tada!!
(a trick hubs taught me was to cut off the wire where you are going to cut...otherwise the wire snaps and "boings" out - plus he hates what it "does" to his blade...though I'm not sure what that REALLY is..lol)
*Please note, do not attempt if you do not know how to operate - saws are very dangerous!!
If you do not have one, or a hubs or dad or neighbor or uncle (etc),
Monica (from the Schroeder Page) took hers to an office supply store. Check out her post {HERE} on it.
What do I use the math journals for???
Check out THIS post to find out.

Too funny! I would have done the exact same thing to that poor spiral notebook. Great idea, too!!
Oh, well done! I'm not sure I would have been brave enough.

Learning Is Something to Treasure
I will definitely need to be going to Office Depot. I'm not even good with a drill.
You go, girl :)

My Life as a Third Grade Teacher
oooo I love this! I've seen composition notebooks cut in half but I like the idea of a spiral notebook cut in half! Impressive work with the power saw by the way....power tools are the best! ;)

I heard that Home Depot will cut composition books in half if you tell them you're a teacher. I haven't tried it, but just a thought.

I have also heard that Home Depot and/or Lowes will also do it, sometimes for a nominal fee.

Do you know what type of blade you use/used when you do this? I'd love to do it for my little 2nd graders, but I don't want to completely screw it up! Also, did you try doing more than one at a time?
Why is ABACUS training so important?
Abacus is the most ancient tool used for the purpose of calculations. It is one of the most important calculating devices invented for the calculation purposes. With the help of an abacus, simple arithmetical functions are easy to learn. In addition to that, enrolling your kid in ABACUS classes can also help them to bring up their confidence and concentration level in their daily activities. Not only that, learning abacus can also help a child to improve their memory.
Hey! Nice post, an interesting and informative one. Great work! Keep it up.
