So today is my latest edition of Made It Monday with Tara....
(and she's on vacay - so go wish her happy travels!)
I have just a few little odds and ends to show you...
Then I'm off to UPS to print up like 300 PAGES of stuff!! lol..
No lie...I'm dead-pan serious.
but after I leave there, I'll be in deep-breathing mode...so I'll head to the beach, which always calms me down..lol (that sounded like a circle story right there from Laura Numeroff! haha!)
BUT I'll have to make a choice on the banner while I'm there...lol
(p.s...apparently some of you are special...lol...you can print color at school...say what?!?! yeah..right...our B/W copies are counted, so I KNOW there's no color printing..lol...and my laser jet at home would just KILL the cartridges...)

Anyway.....
Autumn and I made this little frame for my dad for when we went to Colorado...
He's a surfer (the whole fam is) and he LOVES to collect shells.
So I printed up this picture...it's one of my favorites - he teaching her about waves and she's listening so intently to him...
Autumn collected shells and then I bought a clear plastic frame and we got glued her favorite shells...
It's nothing big, but you should have seen how excited he was about it she gave it to him in Colorado....
Then, I made these cute little pencil/supply holders....
Duck Tape, my friends...LOVE all the new patterns!!!
THEN....
mail came on Saturday.
I didn't check it until Sunday though.
But I was so excited when I saw what was in it!!
My fabric came from Hawaii (THANK YOU, CORINNA!!!)
AND my Birchbox!!!
I was like a kid on Christmas I tell ya.
Went back in the house through the garage so I could grab the staple gun...
and immediately recovered my chair for my classroom!
LOVE it!!!
(I actually had her get me like FOUR yards of it - so now the question is....WHAT to do with the rest of it??)
I think I'm going to keep it white.
Although, I'm scare of white.
Really - I am....Not one wall in my house is white...well, except the wainscott in our bathroom that we just redid...
But I don't count that - it's PVC...or something.
Anyway. I have a feeling that it's going to get too dirty for me to be able to handle...
So I'm thinking about painting it the lime green or the dark teal that's in the pattern...
Ok, I'm of to make my printing lists!!

The chair is so cute! I love the calming colors in the fabric. I like the white, but I'm like you, I don't want to HAVE to paint it again because it got so dirty.
I need to go print some stuff too, I;m hoping I can get into the school to do it and save me the money.

Your chair is precious along with the frames.

The rocking chair turned out great! You can make a pillow for the chair with the extra fabric.
LOVE the fabric! It turned out really good. Magic Erasers make me less fearful of white (I have a very messy husband!) For me, it's easier to clean our whites than things with color. And, believe me, he leaves a wake of mess wherever he goes, ii-yi-yi!
Thanks for sharing!

Your chair looks fantastic!

I love the special frame what a wonderful gift. I'm with you a little scared of white. Thanks for sharing.

That chair is so cute now! If you're ever shopping for a new printer that doesn't use as much ink, I recommend the Kodak ones. Mine is awesome AND I can buy ink for crazy cheap at Sam's club - a 3 pack of black or a 2 pack of color for $30! I also agree with keeping the Magic Erasers on hand - they are so good at getting little smudges etc off white. Plus they're easy to use. Every once in a while I give my 5 year old one and have him wipe down the door jams and walls at his height - since he's usually the one leaving little fingerprints everywhere!

You could use some of your leftover fabric to cover one of those small bulletin boards and hang it near your lovely new chair. If you really dislike the white you could do the arms (where the grubby fingers will touch!) in color plus somewhere else to tie it all together. I love the white, though!
I hear you on the printing. No color printer at school, I don't have one since I used it so sporadically the ink always dried up, and it costs 50¢/sheet at the printing shop in town. BUT my mom is on vacation now so I am borrowing her printer. Figure I can spring for a new cartridge and still come out ahead.
Oh my your chair is absolutely beautiful! Oh, I so know what you mean about copies! I swear Staples makes a ton of money off of me at the beginning of the year :)

I love your pencil holders and I agree duct tape is the answer to many questions. The chair looks amazing too. I agree with painting it to match the beautiful fabric. White is sooooo hard to have around children and their often sticky, dirty hands. :)

If it was staying at your house I would say leave it white! But my rocking chair was white last year and the arm rests got soooo nasty from little hands. I am painting it this summer and painted the arm rests the darkest color of all of them.
I love that fabric!!

I was in love with my Birchbox this month! :) As for the chair, I think the lime green or teal would be a nice pop of color... and the white might get dirty. Thanks for sharing your ideas! :) P.S. I've seen your blog before, but I just realized today I'm not following it! I'm going to correct that problem now! :)

I love the rocking chair the way it is, but green would be awesome! I really need to get some patterned duct tape.

Great chair and frame!!
Your chair, that fabric... so gorgeous!!!
Duck Tape! I don't know who finally convinced them to have patterns and designs. (Probably a woman) but whoever it is, I am thankful!!
Your chair is so cute! I'm your newest follower.
Grade Three is the Place for Me
I was cracking up with your Laura Numeroff reference (it still has me chuckling, thinking about it!). Love the chair! I don't know how your classroom is but maybe you could use the extra fabric for shelf curtains or valences or something. Very pretty.
Thanks for sharing and the laugh! :)

Very cute fabric. If you're looking for a pretty teal, try Valspar Going Fishing or Swizzle Stick. We just painted my husband's store with both colors...really pretty. They would match the flowers well.

I got my birchbox Saturday too! I got the cutest headphones that actually match one of my running outfits! Today I found my new uses for my last two birchbox boxes. {Aren't they sturdy?} I'll show it in a blog post later this week!
