No beach...but a new venture!

so....no beach today. It was a gray, ugly day. But maybe tomorrow?!?!

Even though I didn't get any good beach pictures today, I DID get this gem of a photo!! That is the sunrise in my backyard!!! (again...I'm proud of my PHO-TOG skills here!) Yes, I was up for sunrise. Thanks to my 2 year old, who thinks getting up anywhere from 5:30-6:00 is acceptable. Really kid??? WHY, oh WHY, does she do this??? And how do I make it stop?? Good news is, both girls slept through the night - well, I went to bed at 11:30 (thanks to little Miss B), so after I finally went to bed, THEN they both slept through the night, which is good because hubby was working last night - whew! And potty training?!?! Ugh! I think that will be the bane of my existence!

Ok, so I've decided to take a plunge into the world of creating units. That's what happens when I'm sitting at home. I feel the need to be productive and creative. lol.
The only next "themes" I can think of (because I don't have my calendar here at home that has all the holidays and such) is St. Patty's day....well, from like the mid-Feb starting point anyway.
I know that Ginger Snaps has great Clip Art (Check out her Etsy Shop!) and so does KPM Doodles (check out her Etsy Shop!). But I'm not quite sure what theme to go with - any ideas??! Leave your thoughts in my comments...puh-leeez!! I've got baby brains...wait. No. I left my brains on the birthing bed. ha!

I'm really excited about this new adventure - I have my ideas already for my first unit! (scribbled on the empty space of an Office Depot catalog, since I was nursing and that was what was near me when the thoughts came to my head! lol).

Oh, one more thought to send your way....Denise, over at Sunny Days in Second Grade posted about this craft idea back in December. LOVED it!! Not only did I make myself one, but I made like 5 or 6 for Christmas gifts, and they all loved it too!! It's a recipe hanger for those recipes that aren't in a book to sit in the book holder thingy....isn't it so cool!? HERE is her post on how to make one!

Ok, oven is buzzing, guess I'll go put dinner in :)
Hope y'all had a great Hump Day at work!!

What a pretty picture! I grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida, and my family moved back to Michigan (we left when I was a baby for sunnier pastures!) when I was a teenager. I do miss my palm trees (but not the palmetto bugs!) and those beautiful sunsets!

Love the picture. And I was correct, frozen car again *sigh* but we did at least have the sun!

Cute recipe holder :) I've taken to using a little easel holder I bought back this summer for my dad's retirement party.

Yeah I think I finally figured out why they weren't working. We got new computers and with Windows 7 you can now convert docs into PDF's in word without downloading a program and I think that was the problem. I just went back to doing it the old way. It takes a little more time, but maybe everyone will be able to download them with no problem now! Also, that font is called CK Tools if you want to use it.

Your sunrise picture is so beautiful! It makes me wish I could be there....instead of here...where they are calling for snow tonight!

Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish. There was another area set up as a "lounge" for teens to hang out and talk as well. Our God by Chris Tomlin
